How to permanently redact a PDF

  1. Drop in a PDF, then drag over each area you want to black out, on every page that needs it.
  2. Confirm the raster-only output warning once you're happy with the selections.
  3. Click Build verified redacted PDF, then download the result.

FAQ

Is the redacted content really gone, not just covered up?

Yes — each page is rebuilt as a fresh image, so the original text, links and hidden objects underneath your selections are gone, not just painted over.

Why is the output a raster (image-based) PDF?

Rebuilding every page from pixels is what guarantees no trace of the removed content, selectable text or metadata survives — the tradeoff is a larger, non-selectable-text file.

Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?

No — the whole process, including rasterizing and rebuilding the PDF, happens locally in your browser.
